“Well, excluding the part where you almost got toppled over, I’d say you’ve been good so far.” he gave her hand a little squeeze as they entered the building, ”After we buy the things you need, we can go pick a new book. Cosmo isn’t here so you don’t need to share.”
Something about The O’Conner house, the medication, and Dierdra in particular got Leon acting different. He was starting to wonder if it was the reason why Cosmo would rather stay out of town than go home most of the time. Being domesticated like this was making the reporter act….different. He was turning soft and turning into a worry wart. But it wasn’t that bad is it? He enjoyed being with Dierdra, enjoyed spending time with her, enjoyed holding her hand, sharing meals with her, reading her a story and sleeping beside her-
“What floor is it? Where we need to buy the perfume?”
"This is true," Dierdra commented at his mention of not needed to share with Cosmo. Long since she out grown those days, even if they did occasionally linger in her mind.
Looking down at the hand that held hers, Dierdra smiled. In the past few days the house had shifted to brimming with people, to being near desolate. For the better part of nearly a week it had been just the two of them. An odd makeshift routine had formed and the brunette would have been hard pressed to say she hated it.
The liked the company and security of having someone solid in the house. She loved Cosmo desperately, but he was always coming and going, in and out, Dierdra never knew what to expect from him and it was damn near madding. Perhaps the thing she loved the most was-
"Oh…" Dierdra said with a shake of her head, pushing the thoughts she had been having away, "unless they’ve changed things around since the last time I was here, it should be on the third floor."
Moving around an older couple looking a display of ties a smile formed on the young woman’s face, “And I was thinking, while I don’t have to share with Cosmo, the likely hood that you’ll be reading form this new book is extremely high… it might be nice if you had at least a little input. If you would like.”
